Durant HS band soaking in Liberty Bowl experience

MEMPHIS, Tenn. ― The Durant High School Marching Band is in Tennessee this Friday, where they are scheduled to perform at halftime of the Liberty Bowl between Kentucky and East Carolina.

The Pride of Durant won the marching competition last Tuesday, January 30th and earned the pre-game performance honors. Durant beat out 22 other bands. By winning, Durant band members had the honor of performing the entire pre-game show Friday prior to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee.

They will also be performing during the halftime show with Sarah Evans.

On Thursday, they marched in the Liberty Bowl New Year's Day Parade on Beale Street in Memphis, along with the other 22 bands that were there competing for the pre-game honors.

The band has also won the Overall Sweepstakes Award, which consisted of judging that took place in the original competition and the also the performance during the parade Thursday.
