HOWE, TX – It’s time to check in with this week's A+ Athlete. Daniel Gotera takes us down to Howe High School to meet a basketball player who relieves the stress of the classroom by hooping it up.

Jordan has a GPA of 97 and is ranked fourth in her class, but studying a lot can get frustrating and that’s where basketball comes in.

Wile she is on the court, she does pretty well. Jordan has been named MVP at several tournaments throughout her career and made the all district team last year. She says nothing is better than getting out on the court and her work both on and off the floor impresses her head coach.

In addition to her athletic success, Jordan is the senior class president, is on the National Honor Society and is on the student council she wants to study financing and would like to stay in lone star state by attending the University of Texas.

Congratulations to Jordan England on being named this week’s A+ Athlete.

We'll introduce you to another A+ Athlete every Friday here on First News AM. School officials, coaches, teachers, and counselors are encouraged to send in your nominees.
