LONE GROVE, OK ― School will be back in session Friday in Lone Grove, and faculty and staff say they will be ready to help students with any needs they may have. Daniel Armbruster has the story from Lone Grove.

Classes will resume Friday in Lone Grove, but administrators are expecting anything but a normal school day.

Brooke Gentry was at a high school basketball game in the Lone Grove Gym the evening the tornado hit. Since then the school has closed, and she has spent her time helping others in need.

Buses will be running again Friday. Lone Grove interim superintendent Meri Jayne Miller says they want to help students get things back to normal, but realize that may take time.

At least 20 students and staff are displaced by the storm, and Miller says the school will make arrangements for them.

If other students need supplies or clothing, they can go to the Lone Grove Primary School Gym.

No students or staff members are believed to have been killed or injured in the storm.

AS A PARENT IN RINGLING, IF OUR SO CALLED MAYOR IS CONCERNED WHY WOULD HE ALLOW A POLICE CHIEF TO HIRE RANDY BATTERTON, WHAT DOES SOME OF THE OTHERS HAVE ON THEIR RECORDS??? WHERE IS THE BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THIS ELITE FORCE?? WHY DID THE POLICE CHIEF FIRE TWO GOOD RESERVE OFFICERS GARY THOMPSON AND BILLY MOISER, THEY HAD GOOD RECORDS, NOW ALL WE HAVE IS WILSON TRASH. RINGLING NEEDS TO GET RID OF THE MAYOR HIS WIFE AND ALL THE RESERVES AND GET OUR TOWN BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS, A GREAT TOWN.

This is horrible and scary. How can it be possible for this man to be hired as a reserve officer. What is wrong with the Police Chief to think this is ok? If this man truly has this record, how can I feel safe? I CAN'T!! It's my right as a Ringling citizen to know everything about ALL of these officers and their backgrounds. Sounds like the SO CALLED MAYOR should use better judgement and take better care of this town, or just stick with what he knows best "GOAT FARMING"!!! I used to hate the goats, now I just feel sorry for them!

What is wrong with the Ringling Police Chief, to run a background check on Randy G. Batterton our elite reserve officer, accept its findings, and hire him to patrol our fine city, just to prey on our loved ones, let alone send him to Lone Grove to so call help with the devastation & heartbreak of the citizens. I hope the people realize the police chief and his flunkies were not Ringling citizens and are actually rejects from Wilson!!

This goes with the previous comment regarding the felon with a gun... The outcome. Can you imagine the power he had. And I am sure that POWER was exactly what he was going for. How could something like this have happened? Luckily, Lone Grove Police found out about this liar and took away his gun and get rid of him. But what has he been allowed to do thus far? That is such a scary thought. He was out there trying to take advantage of a horrible situation. I hope something gets done about this and make sure it NEVER happens again. Maybe with proper media coverage this can be handled properly. Thank you

First of all, many prayers to all whom have and will suffer from this tragedy. Next, out among those trying to clean up, search for lost ones and assist families, there was a convicted felon among the POLICE and EMERGENCY PEOPLE, impersonating a police officer. This man was a so called reserve deputy with Ringling and HAD A GUN and claimed to be a police officer. See all public records: RANDY G BATTERTON ODOC# 152688 86-9 MURR Larceny 02/05/1987 2Y 0M 0D Probation 02/05/1987 02/04/1989 91-152 MURR Arson Third Degree 01/06/1992 3Y 0M 0D Incarceration 10/27/1992 01/05/1995 91-152 MURR Arson 3rd Degree 01/06/1992 3Y 0M 0D Probation 01/21/1992 01/20/1995 93-59 MURR Burglary Second Degree 06/15/1993 7Y 0M 0D Incarceration 06/15/1993 09/26/1998 Also on odcr check out in Murray and Carter Counties. The Ringling Police Chief gave this man a GUN and let him run freely acting as a police officer. Can you imagine a person like this stopping your daughter, your wife?
