DENISON, TX -- Many college students also headed back to class Monday. Administrators at Grayson County College say enrollment is up 20% this year.

More than 5,200 students will flood the campus. Many of the students are dual-enrollment, meaning they are high school students taking classes for college credit. Also more minorities have enrolled this year.

With the added students, one problem is parking. Administrators say there may not be enough spaces to hold all the students, but they are working to correct that problem in the next few weeks.

“When the economy is down we find that students try to take advantage of their education, and students are able to find just what they need at Grayson," said Wendell Williams, VP of student services at GCC.

College leaders say they expect to have more students come in once they open their new building for technical students.

Hmmm. I'll bet enrollment is up - everybody's out of work! At least they are doing something worthwhile and I am glad!
