SHERMAN -- Students at Dillingham Elementary got the chance to interact with Veterans of Foreign Wars Friday morning in the eighth annual Hero Day.

The event is designed for students of all ages to meet with veterans and learn first hand what participating in the wars was like.

Displays were set up with medals and various artifacts from the different wars.

Along with the veterans, the Sherman Police Department and Grayson County Sheriff's Office were also on hand to teach kids a variety of subjects.

The event was from 8 o’clock Friday morning until noon.
