SHERMAN, TX -- The entire Bells High School got to spend a day outside of the classroom, and in a movie theater instead. Principal Will Steger took about 250 students to the Cinemark in Sherman to see the movie "The Blind Side".

The buses rolled up a little after nine this morning filled with hundreds of excited students. But even though they weren't learning traditional lessons in class, Principal Steger and the high-schoolers say the movie has a valuable message to be taught.

"All the kids get to enjoy it, and it was a great story and a great film, and I even had tears in my eyes," Steger said.

Principal Steger says he tries to treat the kids to a movie every year during the holidays.

I agree Bob. I have lived in Bells since birth and went to school and graduated from Bells High School. I refuse to leave this town just because I want my kids to go to Bells School District. Oh BTW Go class of 2001!!!!

My daughter graduated from Bells in 2000. It was a great school system then even without going to a movie. Sounds like the excellence is continuing, just wish the sport teams could do better. Bells is a wonderful town to raise your children in despite recent problems; THE PEOPLE THERE MAKE IT THAT WAY.

WONDERFUL!!! Students should have something to look forward to AND learn from in school. It's great to hear that this principal is getting the kids OUT of the classroom and into educational as well as enjoyable experiences.

Thank you, Mr. Steger, for taking us to this movie! It gave us the chance to learn about problems that exist in today's society and how we can help.
