POTTSBORO, Tex. -- Baseball is big news right now in Pottsboro, Texas. The Pottsboro High School varsity baseball team left the high school Thursday morning for Round Rock, Texas, and the UIL state baseball tournament.

There was noise and excitement, but it wasn't a typical send-off.

The dream of reaching state has come true for the Pottsboro baseball team, and they're just excited to play ball. They went ahead and boarded the buses without the hype and hoopla their fans wanted to give.

Game one of the Class 2A state semi-final will be on Friday at 10 a.m.

Stay with First Sports as we follow Pottsboro to the state tournament.

Mark Van Paasschen will have the latest from Round Rock, Texas, as the Cardinals battle Hooks in the semi-final.
