SHERMAN, Tex. -- Progress has begun at Washington Elementary as some of the walls are set to come down.
Crews are on site moving desks out of the classrooms on Monday.
Demolition is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning on the main portion of the school on Travis Street.
Students attending the elementary will be transported to a new location across town when next school year begins.
That facility is brand new and was just completed recently, so students will attend brand new schools two years in a row.
A small dentist office next to Washington will also be torn down tomorrow making room for a new library and classrooms.
