WHITEWRIGHT, TX - High school students in Whitewright got an unexpected day off after a power outage at the school.
According to police a utility pole was stuck by a vehicle early Friday morning, snapping the pole in two and knocking out the power for the high school, along with most of the south side of town.
Whitewright High School students were sent home. However teachers will be staying at the school, using the time as a work day.
City officials tell us the power has been restored at this time.
