DENISON, TX - An appeal made by the Sherman and Denison Independent School Districts to the UIL over district realignment was denied this morning, Denison ISD officials say.

Denison ISD received word today that the UIL Appeals Committee has denied the district's request to repeal the recent realignment that places Denison and Sherman in a district with schools as far away as Texarkana and Mount Pleasant.

Denison ISD Superintendent Dr. Henry Scott says his biggest concern is travel problems caused by the new geographically vast district .

The new District 13-4A also consists of Greenville, Royce City, and Sulphur Springs.
