DENISON, Tex. -- Over a hundred people turned out to welcome 50 new teachers to Texoma on Thursday as the Denison Chamber of Commerce held its annual luncheon for new educators.

School officials say it's a great way to inform the new arrivals of what the area has to offer.

They say they hope to lock these teachers into their positions with the district, so they'll stay for years to come.

Denison students head back to school on August 27th.
