SHERMAN, TEXAS -- Hundreds of people lined the streets of downtown Sherman for the High School Homecoming parade.
The band kicked off the parade at the Municipal building and dozens of female students from nearly every club at the high school rode through the streets in decorated cars to represent their organization.
Students say the tradition is one of the most special highlights of homecoming week because it shows the diversity of Sherman High School.
"The girls really are the representation and the core of what Sherman High School is and everyone is really an individual and this parade shows the individuality that Sherman High school has," said Erin Rodriguez of the Sherman HS Hi-Steppers.
The Sherman Bearcats will take on Mt. Pleasant Tigers this Friday at 7:30 at Bearcat Stadium.
