Pontotoc County man gets life sentence for 2016 muder

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A jury found Charles Michael Cooper, 28, guilty of the murder of Cindy Allen.

Allen was found dead in her Byng home in 2016.

Investigators say Cooper strangled Allen, and then set her house on fire before fleeing the state.

Cooper was eventually found in Montana, and brought back to Pontotoc County.

A jury sentenced him to life without parole for Allen's murder.

Cooper was also sentenced to a total of 105 years for burglary, two counts of Arson and one count of rape by instrumentation.
