Ada man starts apartment fire to make guests leave

ADA, Okla. (KXII) - An Ada man is in the Pontotoc County Jail accused of intentionally setting his apartment on fire.

Officers arrested Riley Tracy Harmon, 50, after responding to a fire at the Rolling Meadows Apartments.

Harmon admitted to starting the fire because he says, people wouldn't leave his house and were threatening him.

Officers suspect Harmon was under the influence of drugs at the time.

"He definitley was not acting like normal person would be acting," Public Information Director Lisa Bratcher said. "There was suspicion that he was under some kind of substance."

No one was injured by the fire, but Harmon faces first degree arson charges because he is accused of endangering the lives of neighbors in his complex.
