Anna Police Department investigates first homicide

ANNA, Texas (KXII) Officers said they got multiple calls of gunshots into a home on Creekside Drive just before midnight Friday.

They said 25-year-old Corey Lamar was found at the home unconscious. He was pronounced dead at a McKinney hospital.

It’s the first homicide for Anna PD since the department was formed back in 2005.

We're told Lamar was inside the home when the suspects fired off the rounds from inside a car.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Lt. Jeff Caponera said a motive is unclear at this time, but the shooting wasn’t random.

"All we know is that there is a relationship, it's not a familial relationship, it's just a coworker type relationship,” Caponera said.

Texas Rangers and the Collin County Sheriff's Office are assisting with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to give them a call.
