HUGO, Okla. (KXII) -- Wednesday kicked off the annual KXII All-American blood drives.
The City of Hugo and the Kiamichi Technology Center started what will be six days of blood drives throughout Texoma.
All donations go to help local hospitals' shelves stay stocked for when it matters most.
All you need to donate is a photo ID and a quick blood screening before you donate.
The entire process takes about an hour.
Shana Wood with the Oklahoma Blood Institute says donations tail off at this time of year, when they really need them most.
"People are traveling, they are on vacation and they don't really think about donating blood but this is when more accidents happen, especially when people are going to the lake," Wood told News 12.
The blood drives continue Thursday in Durant at Durant City Hall.
