Atoka women indicted for Medicaid fraud

ATOKA, Okla. (KXII) -- There are now criminal charges for an Atoka woman already ordered to pay back $4.7 million in a Medicaid fraud scheme.

Lexie Batchelor, 59, is charged with three counts of Medicaid fraud and one count of identity theft.

Her daughter, 43-year-old Heather Doss of Tulsa is charged with one count of Medicaid fraud and identity theft.

State and federal attorneys say Batchelor and her daughter helped themselves to more than $1.5 million taxpayer dollars, using 197 clients' identifications to submit fake claims.

In August, when Batchelor interviewed with KXII, she was at a resort in Arizona, but said the whole story was untrue and her attorneys had taken all her money.
