Back the Badge Golf Tournament raises $30,000

DENISON, Tex. (KXII) -- KMKT's Zac Grantham announced Friday that the Back the Badge Golf Tournament held in September raised $30,000 to help police officers, sheriff's deputies and their families.

The Back the Badge Golf Tournament held in September at Denison Country Club raised $30,000 to help police officers, sheriff's deputies and their families.

A check was presented to Denison and Sherman Police, and to the Grayson County Sheriff's Department on Thursday at the Denison Country Club.

Eric Bryant, owner of Classic of Texoma said, "Everybody pulled together did an incredible job in the Texoma community. Of course -- as the Texoma community is -- was incredibly giving, volunteered their time and donated and did everything they could to show their appreciation, it couldn't have turned out better."

Classic of Texoma, 93.1 FM Katy Country, and KXII teamed up for the tournament.

The $30,000 will be divided evenly between Sherman Police, Denison Police, and the Grayson County Sheriff's Office.

More than 100 golfers participated in the tournament.
