Blossom man jailed for shooting neighbor in face

BLOSSOM, Tex. (KXII) - Lamar County deputies arrested a man Tuesday evening after he allegedly shot his neighbor in the face while he was outside mowing.

Deputies tell us Roderick Minter faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim's wife called 911 around 6 p.m. stating that her husband had been shot by a neighbor in the 300 block of Elm Street in Blossom.

Deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to the face. The victim told them he had been outside mowing across from his residence when a known neighbor shot him.

Deputies found Minter at a nearby residence a short time later and arrested him. He's now awaiting arraignment in the Lamar County Jail.

The victim was flown to a Dallas area hospital. His condition was not given.

Deputies have not said what may have led up to the shooting.
