Boil Water notice issued for parts of Pushmataha County

PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) -- Clayton, Oklahoma Vice Mayor Terry Bell says the water authority in Pushmataha hand delivered letters to people in Northern Pushmataha, Latimer and Leflore counties on Friday.

The letters state Sardis Lake Authority has found the lake to be contaminated with human or animal waste and the bacteria e.coli is present as a result.

If you live anywhere in the area, be sure to boil drinking and cooking water for your safety, especially with infants young children or elderly people living in your home.
