Part of Charles Evans Elementary School was evacuated Thursday morning after tests revealed higher than normal carbon monoxide levels.

Ardmore Schools Superintendent Kim Holland said high levels of the gas were found in older parts of the building.

School faculty and staff moved eight classrooms -- about 170 students -- to a newer part of the building as a precaution.

Holland said they are having inspectors come out to check the school and those kids will stay in the newer part of the school for the rest of the week.
