SULPHUR, Okla. (KXII) - The Chickasaw Cultural Center held a weekend full of events to celebrate Mother's day in Sulphur.
The celebration kicked off yesterday with the Taloowa Music Fair.
It was a day of several different music genres playing live at the center's amphitheater.
Today was all about craft making.
Moms also received free admission to the Chikasha Poya Exhibit Center and special discounts at the gift shops.
Director of Events Fran Parchcorn says it was first time they combined the two annual events into one weekend.
"Taloowa in our language means 'song' and we wanted to celebrate Mother's Day with a part of our culture that is a part of us and that is the gift of song," Parchorn said.
Both event days were free and open to the public.
