Chisum football player suspended by UIL

PARIS, Tex. (KXII) - A Chisum High Football player has been suspended by the University Interscholastic League after he was involved in a fight at an away football game last month.

The State Executive Committee of the UIL met Tuesday and handed down a two year suspension to a Junior Chisum High football player.

Superintendent Tommy Chalaire says the fight happened during a football game between Chisum and Queen City at Queen City on September 22nd.

We're told the fight happened during the game between the Chisum student and a Queen City student.

Chalaire says the incident was handled appropriately and quickly by both schools.

The Queen City player has not been suspended by the UIL.

The Chisum student-athlete must wait one year till the day of the incident to appeal.

Chisum hosts Cooper this Friday.
