City breaks ground on new water treatment plant

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- A new treatment plant will soon deliver cleaner water to the city of Sherman.

City council members gathered for a ground breaking for the facility off La Cima Rd.

The $27 million dollar project will double the water capacity to 20 million gallons a day.

City officials say they will sell the excess water to surrounding cities and that money will help pay for the new plant.
