LOVE COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - Construction of the new jail started last year.

Love County Sheriff Marty Grisham says issues with the concrete contractors delayed them for months, but now they're back on track and even ahead of schedule by almost a month.

The current jail is constantly overcrowded and holds 30 beds.

The jail will cost about 9 million dollars, and is being paid for by a half cent sales tax.

The new jail is expected to open by May.
