Construction worker hurt in overnight hit & run

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - A construction worker is injured after a hit and run in Sherman overnight.

Another vehicle was also hit by the suspect traveling on US Highway 75 before driving off.

Police say a vehicle was driving north on US-75 past Sherman Town Center after 2 a.m. Thursday when it struck a cone by the construction zone and that cone hit one of the workers.

The vehicle also sideswiped another vehicle before driving off.

The construction worker was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

No one in the vehicle hit in the hit and run was hurt.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

Drivers are being advised that if they drive past construction zones to slow down. Construction work is still being done on northbound US-75 Thursday.
