LAMAR COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) -- Atmos energy says crews and contractors will be working on a natural gas pipeline near county road 24200, west of FM 1184 in southwest Lamar County, Tuesday between 7 in the morning and 7 at night.

The company says they will oversee a controlled release of natural gas to allow their employees to work on the line safely.

People in the area can expect the smell of natural gas and construction noise during that time.

Atmos says its customers will not be affected while the maintenance work is happening and the release poses no threat to the health of the people or animals in that area.
