DENISON, Texas (KXII) -- The Denison Animal Welfare Group is now accepting donations to transfer some of their animals up north for a second chance at life.
An anonymous donor gave a $4,500 matching grant towards the fund, but they still need another couple thousand for transport expenses.
DAWG said their at they're maximum capacity and simply cannot keep all of the animals.
We're told shelters in Ohio, Nebraska and Wisconsin don't have as nearly as bad of a stray problem because they don't have a yearlong breeding season like here in Texoma and have more room to house them until they find homes.
