DURANT, Okla. (KXII) -- A narrative statement from the Bryan County Sheriff's Office, states that officer Jared McCreary was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in the summer of last year.
In an incident report from June 3, 2017, it states that deputies were called to the officer's home off South Lone Oak Road for a domestic dispute.
The report states that McCreary and his estranged wife fought when she returned to the house to get some of her belongings, because she had moved out.
The report states the two wrestled on the ground and Officer McCreary then put his hands over her mouth, causing her to feel like she couldn't breathe and began thumping her forehead.
Online records show no charges were filed against the police officer.
Durant Police officials declined to comment on why McCreary was placed on leave, referring us to the City's Human Resources Department.
The City Manager said via telephone that McCreary is on paid administrative leave.
The City of Durant released this statement:
"The City can confirm Officer McCreary is involved in an ongoing personnel investigation. The results and any actions related to this personnel matter are still pending. The City does not comment on pending personnel matters."
