Grayson County Commissioners: FAA expected to take over NTRA tower funding

Commissioners said after almost five years, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to take over funding the North Texas Regional Airport tower funding on Oct. 1. The move will save Grayson County taxpayers around $300,000 per year.

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- Grayson County officials said taxpayers will save about $300,000 annually starting in the Fall.

Commissioners said after almost five years, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to take over funding the North Texas Regional Airport tower funding on Oct. 1.

Currently, tower expenses cost Grayson County taxpayers around $300,000 per year.

County Judge Bill Magers said federal funding will pay to operate the tower.
