UPDATE: Driver dies after fiery three-semi crash in Atoka County

ATOKA COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) -- UPDATED 11/5/17 11:40 p.m. - Troopers said 40-year-old Charles Prosser died Sunday morning from severe burns.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man is in the hospital with burn injuries after three semi trucks were involved in a crash in Atoka County.

It happened Thursday night on U.S. Highway 69 near Tushka. OHP said all three semis were heading southbound on 69 around 9 p.m. when one semi driven by 40-year-old Charles Prosser hit another semi, then also hit a third semi.

Prosser's semi caught fire and he was pinned for about 20 minutes.

The highway was shut down for hours. Prosser was airlifted in critical condition. The other drivers were not hurt.
