Former Rattan teacher will not face charges for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a male student

RATTAN, Okla. (KXII) -- Charges will not be filed against a former Rattan Junior High teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

The Pushmataha County District Attorney's Office says the boy and his guardian did not wish to press charges and that the boy told authorities he would not testify in court.

Allegations of the relationship surfaced in December.

The former teacher, 28-year-old Alicia Jobe, resigned from her teaching position the same day the superintendent reported the matter to the Sheriff's Office.

Jobe's Oklahoma teaching license remains suspended.
