Grayson County Dems protest Rep. Ratcliffe's vote to repeal Obamacare

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- The Grayson County Democrats are marching at the courthouse this week, protesting a Texoma congressman's vote to repeal Obamacare.

U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe voted Thursday to repeal Obamacare and implement conservative health care reforms in its place.

The Grayson County Democrats said they want to ask him in person why he made that choice and tell him how they think they'll be affected.

Ratcliffe's office said he recently held a telephone town hall with more than 10,000 participants from across Texas' 4th District, where he discussed this issue.

Debbie Burns said she tried to join that call and it was full, and she's been asking to meet with Ratcliffe since January.

"To completely do away with it and do what he's gonna do to a 60-year-old woman, to my health insurance premiums, is just unconscionable, I won't have insurance," Burns said. "I think he should sit down and talk with us about why he thinks repealing the ACA is a good idea."

The Grayson County Democrats said they will be outside the courthouse again Tuesday and Wednesday, from 5-6 p.m.

Ratcliffe's office said they are working to plan another town hall opportunity soon.
