SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- The Grayson County Sheriff's Office has a new canine officer.

The 15 month old dog was given to the department by an anonymous donor.

His name is Pregas, which is Polish for "stripe."

The dog is part Belgian Malinois and Part Dutch Shepherd.

"He makes our jobs a lot easier," Pregas' handler Ryan Miller said. "He can smell things that we can't smell and that will be his biggest asset."
