HEALDTON, Okla. (KXII) - The Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Healdton Oilfield Days event Friday evening and all day Saturday.
The city has held the two day event for over fifty years.
Chamber of Commerce President Jared Wilson says he enjoys seeing the crowds grow year after year.
"It helps Healdton to get good exposure and helps the business here and they can spend some money there and help the business that are in this town," said Wilson.
Saturdays all day event kicked off in the morning with the Old Timers Breakfast and a parade that went through the town.
During the day, over hundreds of visitors were able to enjoy a free concert, look at cars on display for the car show and participate in an obstacle course made by local fireman for kids to see some of the work their heroes do.
"Some of our fireman went through it..sprayed water, rope toss and drag hoses ... stuff that we do on a daily basis," said Fire Chief Chris Chancellor.
Those who participated in the car show tell us that they look forward to participating in the competition and enjoy seeing others admire and learn about their special cars.
"It's great for everybody, it's a positive environment for children with the bounce houses and everything else so it's just a positive environment overall," said car show participant Tarron Estrada.
The day long festivities went into Saturday night with the Rodeo bringing the two day event to a close.
"If you didn't make this year, we invite you next year. It's always the last weekend in August. We would love to have you," said Wilson.
