GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - Parts of Grayson County are dealing with the aftermath up to nine inches, in some places, of rain that fell early Sunday morning.
There are reports of road closures in Sherman, including parts of US Highway 75. See the video from Sherman Police Dept. below the story for more information.
Early Sunday morning Grayson County Emergency Management reported several people who live along Post Oak Creek in Sherman were forced to evacuate their homes.
Sherman Police also report around 25 high water vehicle rescues Sunday morning, and they say around 20-25 houses were evacuated due to high water.
The Sherman Municipal Building was opened up as a temporary shelter. Police report about four families, nine people total, were assisted. They have all returned to their homes to begin cleanup. The American Red Cross also assisted.
We have also been notified that the Boys & Girls Club in Sherman has flooded. Management says the club will be closed Monday and Tuesday in hopes they can have it cleaned up before the start of school Wednesday.
There were also reports of flooded roads in Denison and Pottsboro.
