DENISON, Tex. (KXII) -- Seven nonprofits are getting some help with Easter dinner this week thanks to one local business.
Ruiz Foods and their employees collected 243 hams and donated them to Meals on Wheels, the Grayson County Shelter, MasterKey Ministries, Grand Central Station, Salvation Army, Hands of Hope and Reba's Ranch House.
The nonprofits will then give the hams out to the different people they serve.
Karen Bray with Grand Central Station said this donation means 40 families will get an Easter dinner they otherwise might not have had.
"It helps us offset our grocery cost and provide a bit more of a premium product to our home-bound clients," Greg Pittman with Meals on Wheels said.
"It's not an every day thing or even an annual thing that we receive, it's a special gift," Bray said.
The Grayson County Shelter is holding an Easter dinner Sunday at 5 p.m. It's open to anyone in need.
