ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations is looking into the Friday death of a Carter County jail inmate.
Sheriff Chris Bryant says the 44-year-old male was brought in Thursday for public intoxication, when Friday afternoon, he collapsed in his cell.
He was taken to Mercy Hospital where he passed away a short time later.
Bryant says he immediately called O.S.B.I to investigate, but says there are no signs of foul play.
The inmate's name is not being released, but he has been taken to Oklahoma City for medical examination.
