Lake Texoma marinas cashed in on the 4th of July

POTTSBORO, Tex. (KXII)- "It's always interesting when a holiday falls in the middle of the week." said Brandon Jones, a dentist in Oklahoma City.

Jones wanted to give his staff the entire week off for the 4th of July.

"With it falling right in the middle of the week, we took this opportunity and closed our business and we all decided to take the whole week, so nine, 10 days," said Jones.

Lucky for Jones, the Lighthouse Marina wants to make every day this week feel like the real deal.

"We're treating every day like its the Fourth of July holiday week. There is no 'we're done with the fourth' its continuing on," said Lighthouse Marina representative Beth Hutchinson.

Hutchinson said all 36 cabins were rented, every spot on their dock was full, and both cruises were booked up.

"People do call and say which weekend am I supposed to come to. What it has turned out to be for a lot of people is a really nice vacation that has expanded to be a week or five days or nine days," said Hutchinson.

We also reached out to High Port Marina, and they say their revenue will be as good, if not better than their revenue from last year's 4th of July week

Jones also wanted his staff to appreciate the week with their friends and family.

"We're big supporters of our armed forces and first responders and the people who have fought and died for our freedoms," said Jones.
