LONE GROVE, Okla. (KXII) -- Haley and Chase Howell were surprised with a $7,000 heating and cooling system Thursday morning as part of Hunter's Heat and Air Gift of Heat.
A giveaway the company has done for six years.
"Whenever I saw all the cars pull up and everyone kept piling in, I had no idea that we were actually the ones that they picked," Howell said.
John Shirley from Hunter Heat and Air says their vendor Johnstone Supply provided the unit and their workers installed it -- all free of charge.
"It's not always about the bottom line and the dollar profit," Shirley said, "It's what we can do for others around us and do for other people."
"It's been a rough year and so the fact that we ended up getting this, it just makes Christmas so much more special," Howell said.
Howell tells us she suffered third degree burns from a fire that happened in their backyard almost a year ago.
"We were just outside burning leaves and a gas can exploded and I got covered in burns," Howell said, "That next day my husband's shop burned all the way down and he lost all his tools."
Howell says she and her husband have been working this year to replace what they lost.
She tells us the donation was a relief for their family of four, who had been using an electric fireplace to stay warm this winter.
"Hopefully it will be the start to an even better year," Howell said.
