DURANT, Okla. (KXII) -- A man was arrested early Sunday morning after a police chase in Bryan County.

Durant police say it started on Highway 70, with a suspected drunk driver.

When the officer ran the plates, they found out it was a stolen car out of Kansas. The driver, later identified as Johnny Tavares, took off.

The chase ended when Tavares crashed into a fence in Mead.

The Mead homeowner reported that her son actually cut away part of the fence so the officer could take Tavares into custody.

No one was injured.
