SULPHUR, Okla. (KXII) A man took off from police in a Sulphur neighborhood after allegedly attempting to break into multiple homes nearby.

Police were responding to a home on the eleven hundred block of Wynnewood Friday evening about a possible break in.

Police say Joshua Burchett took off when they arrived on scene and lead them on a chase for about four blocks.

One witness tells us how he saw the chase end just right outside his shed.

"He was holding on to this when the police came up to him and grabbed him and he jerked this off whenever he pulled him away and put him right there," said Thurmin Norton.

One officer is being treated for a concussion after hitting his head on the ground trying to tackle Burchett.

Burchett is now at the Murray County Jail where he is being held on multiple charges.
