Man says bed bugs were infesting Sherman motel room

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- A Texoma man said he stayed at the Crossroads Inn Motel in Sherman Tuesday night and was bitten by several bed bugs that he found and recorded crawling around his sheets and pillow.

The man said he woke up in the morning and his body was covered in itchy red bumps.

"It's like a mix in between a flea bite and a mosquito bite," said Trevor, who didn't want his last name used. "It's so irritating if you're being eaten by them, you're not going to sleep."

Trevor said he checked in Tuesday at the motel and spotted a little brown spec crawling across his mattress.

"At first it was just one," he said. "After I seen that first one, it was just one, after another, after another, after another."

Trevor captured several videos showing the bugs all over the two beds in the room. He said he woke up to itchy red bumps covering his body.

He said when he woke up, he called the health department, and told the manager.

"She told me, 'you need to get out of my room,'" he said. "She walked in and said, 'you need to leave my room now.'"

The manager didn't want to be identified, but showed KXII the inside of the same room, no. 129. She said there were no bed bugs and the mattresses had recently been replaced.

The health department said they investigated the room Wednesday afternoon and didn't find any bed bugs either.

Trevor said he wants a refund.
