MCCURTAIN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) -- Sheriff Kevin Clardy says the McCurtain County Sheriff's Office is the recipient of this year's National Keeper of the Flame Award, presented by the CUE Center for Missing Persons of Wilmington, North Carolina.

The award is based on the discovery of Charlie Osterdock's remains last February in Eagletown.

He was reported missing in July of 2015 and after two human bones were found by a K9 officer, hundreds of volunteers helped with the largest ever search in that area to recover and identify Osterdock's remains.
