PARIS, Tex. (KXII) -- Texas Department of Transportation officials advises motorists who frequently travel south on U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman to be prepared for a short road closure and detour from 6:30 a.m. -10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17.

On that date, TxDOT crews will detour southbound U.S. Highway 75 traffic onto the service road at Exit 54A.

Once on the service road, traffic will continue south past Shepard Road and re-enter U.S. Highway 75 at the next on-ramp.

The closure and detour will occur so representatives of the Sherman Police Department will conduct a fatality accident investigation on the closed southbound main lanes of U.S. Highway 75.

Motorists should reduce their speed and remain alert when approaching and traveling through this short detour, and pay attention to all traffic controls that may be in place.

They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
