ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) - The mother of the three-year-old girl attacked and severely injured by a pit bull last month has been arrested.
Ardmore Police arrested Ashley Marie Bock, 25, of Ardmore, Saturday on one count of child neglect.
Officers say on July 8, Bock brought her daughter to a home in the 1100 block of C Street Southeast knowing the dog was aggressive.
Police say investigation revealed that on a previous occasion the dog had knocked the child down, and the owner had to forcefully pull the dog off her.
Officers also say Bock knew the dog in question had bitten an adult days before the attack.
They say their investigation also uncovered that Bock was at the home to use drugs.
Police also said Bock did not cooperate in their investigation and that she did not wish to pursue charges against the dog's owner.
The pit bull bit the toddler's face in the attack, causing her lip and chin to be severely injured.
