Muenster man arrested for child pornography

MUENSTER, Tex. (KXII) - A Muenster man was arrested accused of taking pornographic pictures of a child while on a fishing trip in Oklahoma.

Bobby Orrell, 79, was arrested by the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office at his home in Muenster, TX on an arrest warrant issued out of Johnston County, Oklahoma.

State investigators allege that on June 6, 2018, Orrell took a juvenile acquaintance on a fishing trip to a secluded fishing spot at Mill Creek, northwest of Ravia.

During the trip, Orrell and the child stripped naked. Orrell allegedly took images of the child with his cell phone.

On August 7, 2018, the family reported it to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department, who in turn requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation look into the case.

OSBI obtained an arrest warrant for Orrell through the Johnston County District Court for Manufacturing Child Pornography.

OSBI worked with the Cooke County, Texas District Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office to assist them in obtaining the search warrant for Orrell’s house.

On August 8, 2018, both warrants were served on Orrell in Muenster, TX.

Orrell is awaiting extradition to Johnston County.

Cooke County seized a number of cell phones, laptops, and hard drives from Orrell’s house.
