ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) -- Some Ardmore residents woke up to no power Sunday morning.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric was reporting 1,693 customers without power due to an outage that started at 9:45 a.m.

The temperature was about 27 degrees at the time.

OG&E said they had a transformer issue that caused a couple of circuits to lock open, and they were working to heat the customers back up.

At 1 p.m., a little less than 200 customers were still without power. According to the National Weather Service the temperature was back above freezing at the time, at 34 degrees, with a wind chill of 29.

The OG&E website said power was expected to be restored at 2:15 p.m.

We're told the power could be on and off again throughout the day for short periods of time as crews continue the maintenance work.
