ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) - Ardmore Development Services Director, Jessica Scott, says the steady population growth is attracting businesses like Popeye's, Taco Casa and Panda Express to Ardmore.
Scott says Popeye's is looking for a contractor to start construction on their lot along Commerce Street in front of Big Lots.
"That's amazing," resident Angelica Ramirez said, "Usually we have that in Norman or Sherman but we love it so it's going to be amazing to have that here finally."
Taco Casa's Franchise Owner Brandon Parker expects it to be open by the summer.
It will be built on Broadway and Rockford Road.
"I'm very excited, you know, I love Taco Casa," Travis Singleton said, "I've never eaten (Popeye's chicken) but I am excited to try one when it comes."
"We like Taco Casa a lot," Landon Echols said.
Scott says Panda Express will be located on 12th and Rockford, right across from Rib Crib and Santa Fe.
She says this will be the second attempt of bringing Taco Casa and Panda Express to the city.
Last year the plans were put on hold after the locations fell through.
"It just brings more people to town you know, more things to do in the community, more people to come out instead of going North or South," Singleton said, "They will stay here in Ardmore and do (their) shopping and eat in town."
