Grand jury clears Hunt Co. DA in fatal crash

HUNT COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - Hunt County District Attorney Noble Walker will not face criminal charges in connection to a fatal accident that killed a school crossing guard in Greenville earlier this year.

A special grand jury returned no indictment on a count of criminally negligent homicide involving Walker earlier this month, citing insufficient evidence.

Multiple law enforcement agencies including a statewide DPS crash team and the Texas Rangers investigated the accident.

In late March, Walker struck 87-year-old Christine Sandlin while she was arriving for morning crossing guard duty.

The crash report stated it was dark, raining and the roadway was wet.
